The work “Show Me The Monet” is part of a series called Crude Oil, in which the artist “remixes” canonical works. The work refers to the classic painting “Bridge over a pond with water lilies” by Claude Monet. The artist added to the idyllic view: shopping baskets and a traffic cone. The title is a play on the words “Show Me The Monet”, which sounds like the idiom “show me the money”, which means “give me the money.”
