“Painting is a source of search. During painting, Kowalik constantly explores the impact of image elements. Putting himself in the position of the viewer, he leads a constant, painterly discussion of what is created on canvas.”
Marcin Kowalik, a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, practicing painting and creativity in the field of installation, object and performance. The artist groups his works into systematically completed cycles: Travel Space, Landscape in a Box, Unknown Kingdom, Back to Basics, and Mirror Phase. His paintings can be described as spatial, often illusive geometric structures in which a very refined color is embedded. He has had many individual exhibitions, and participated in many collective exhibitions. His works are not only in numerous private collections in the country and abroad, but also in the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Regional Museums in Stalowa Wola and Chełm, Borowik Collection, Clifford Chance Collection.
