Paweł Kuczyński – born in 1976 in Szczecin, an excellent, world-renowned cartoonist, illustrator and satirist, honored with a record number of awards in international competitions – so far over 150.
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, an artist of extraordinary sensitivity, who specializes in illustrations that ironically and sharply refer to social, economic and political issues. His works provoke reflection on the problems of the modern world – stereotypes, inequalities, prejudices, violence, propaganda – and the direction in which humanity is heading. Some of them are funny, most of them are painful truth.
The artist is the author of many group exhibitions all over the world – Serbia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Portugal, Cuba, Italy, Lithuania, Sweden, Arab Emirates… .. He permanently cooperates with publishing houses in Europe, Asia and America.
The most important awards he won include: Grand Prix of the 26th Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest in Turkey (2006), 1st prize of the XXIII Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition in Turkey (2006), Grand Prix of the 4th International Styrian Drawing Competition “Kożuchów” ( 2007), gold (2006) and silver (2010) medal of the Kyoto International Cartoonist Congress, 1st prize of the International Cartoonfestival Knokke-Heist in Belgium (2008). First prize 11. George Van Raemdonck Cartoon Contest (Belgium 2008), Grand Premio Umoristi a Marostica 2009 (Italy). First prize of the 3rd International Bursa Cartoon Contest (Turkey 2009), 2nd prize of the World Press Cartoon Sintra 2011.
